Background

AtticRep, formed in 2005 by a group of San Antonio theatre artists, was housed in Trinity University’s Attic Theatre and uses local professional actors, designers, and directors, as well as student support in its productions.  The San Antonio Express-News and the San Antonio Current have labeled AtticRep “Best of 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012.”  In additional to strong critical reviews, AtticRep has enjoyed consistently growing audiences, and has received funding from OCA, The Ford Foundation, Artists Foundation of San Antonio, and private sources.

The Mission of AtticRep is:

Challenging the creative imagination of our community.

Creating immediate and intimate performance-driven theater.

Inspiring dialogue that informs and provokes change.

Organization’s Vision

AtticRep is driven by the belief that theatre has a fundamental place in our community. A theater company is a cultural event and a social entity as it reflects and responds to the cultural discourse of its community.  Theatre as a high form of art must create a platform  for dialogue to inspire constructive change. In its eight years of existence, AtticRep has nurtured this discourse within the cultural and artistic life of San Antonio by presenting mission-based productions for San Antonio.
